Electrical Accessories
DECAUSE batteries sometimes run down owing to some fault in one of the electrical accessories when the car is motionless, the suggestion has been made that the current to all of them, with certain necessary exceptions, should be controlled by a master switch. For the sake of convenience, this can easily be the switch controlling the ignition. A common offender, for instance, is a faulty wiper motor, As this is not needed when the car is not tctually moving, there is no reason whatsoever why the current to it should net be cut off entirely when the engine is not running. The only electrical parts needed when the ignition is switched off arc the tail light, the interior light, and the radio. The headlights can safely be cut right out of the circuit, and this would have the further advantage that it would be impossible to leave them on inadvertently.
