At 1.30 p.m. it was decided to make a start at. 2.15 if no further rain fell. The gates were opened and a few hundred people filed on to the ground. A heavy shower fell about 2.10 and increased to a downpolr about 3.15 p.m. At 4 p.m. play was called ox! for the day. Play will start at 11.30 a.m. to-day if the weather permits.
