GIFT AFTERNOON (Herald Correspondent.) A pleasant gift afternoon was spent at the Kaitaratahi Hall on Tuesday in honour of Miss Edith Gomm, whose marriage takes place on March 22. The hostesses were Mrs. W. Morris and Mrs. J. Lucas, the former receiving their guests attired in brown floral marocain, and the latter in black and white marocain. The afternoon was spent playing cards and with community singing, while Mrs. Morris also sang. The winners of prizes were Mrs. A. Webber and Mrs. G. Croon, while Miss Bettv Croon also was awarded a prize. The guest of honour was attractively attired in navy spotted kabc crepe. Miss Gomm thanked the hostesses and guests for their manv useful gifts, which her brides-maid-to-be, Miss L. Sutherland, helped her to open. Those present were Mesdames W. Breingan, W. Harden, Sutherland, N. Wilton, N. Harvey, R. Buckingham. A. Webber, M. Muilooly, J. Figg, M. Collet M. Williams, J. Lucas, C. Johnson, G 'Croon, J. Muilooly, E. Stevens, G. Wilkins, B. Lovelock, W. Euchre Party The third of a series of weekly euchre parties was held in the Kaitaratahi Hall on Tuesday evening, there being an attendance of 50 players. Seaborne, who will be her guest for a few weeks.—Master Douglas McPherson has returned from, hospital.—-Mrs. A. Clark, Gisborne, recently paid a short visit to her aunts, Mrs. M. Innes, and Miss L. Scott "The Willows."—Mr. D. Muilooly' is the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Mu'llooly.--Mrs. Oxenham, Gisborne, was the recent guest of her daughter, Mrs. C. Johnson.
