REBEKAH LODGE

GISBORNE MEETING ANNIVERSARY DINNER A meeting of the Gisborne Rebekah Lodge, 1.0.0. F., was held recently, the N.G., Sister E. Wilcox, presiding over a good attendance. A vote of sympathy was passed with Bro. John Stevenson,on the death of his daughter, May, members standing in silence. The visiting committee's report was not such a big one this week. Two; new members were proposed for elec- j tion, and nominations received for i elective officers for the coming term. Remits were read and discussed prior to the delegates leaving for Grand Lodge session. Further discussion took place regarding the anniversary dinner and it was decided to commence the lodge on Thursday, March 1G at 7 p.m. and then as soon as the business, j including second night nominations, was concluded, an adjournment would be made to the i Bon Accord • tea rooms, the remainder of the evening to be given to- general enjoyment. All members intending to be present should notify the secretary at once. Sister Robinson asked for leave of absence for the next two lodge nights and this was granted. Sister Cornelius spoke of the gratitude of Bro. John Stevenson for the sympathy shown to him and his family in their bereavement. Bro. E. E. Somervell thanked members for their support. Sister Somervell, P.G., asked members to attend Red Cross meetings to be held in Gisborne soon as first aid work was very necessary.
