Fruitgrowers in Quandary
As the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, has refused to renew the local-market guarantee for fruit for this season, New Zealand fruitgrowers have been placed in a quandary in. their endeavours to reach an agreement with workers in the industry on the question of wages | and conditions of work, it being claimed that without subsidy it would not be possible for orchardists this season to nay their employees the same rates of wages that were paid last year.
