Mr. C. J. Baker was unanimously re-elected president of the Hastings Rugby Football Club for the sixteenth consecutive year at the twenty-first annual general meeting of the club last evening.
Mr. John. H. Twentyman, of Christchurch, has been appointed organising secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society for Canterbury and Westland in succession to Mr. A. C. Marks, who has accepted a Government position in Wellington. Mr. Ttf'entymian recently returned to New Zealand from Peru, where he was engaged in mi&siomary work.
