GOVERNMENT RECEPTION
SIB JULIEN CAHN'S TEAM MINISTERS’ TRIBUTES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A reception, was extended to Sir J'utien Calm's cricket team by the Government this morniing. Representatives of all sporting bodies in Wellington were present, also the Chief Jitkiioe, Sir Michael Myers, the Solici-tor-General, Mr. H. H. Cornish, the Master of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, and the General Manager of Railways, Mr. G. H. Mackley, and Mr. Phillips, chairman of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association, other members of the committee, and Mr. LuttreLl, Christchurch, secretary ox the New Zealand Cricket Council The reception was conducted by tire Minister of Finance, .the Hon. W. Nash, in the absence of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, who was engaged on official business. Mr. Nash apologised for the absence of Mr. Savage and also the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, both of whom sent messages of appreciation' of. Sir JuLien Cahn’s action in bringing the, team to New Zealand and Mr. Fraser added a further message concerning Sir Julien Cahn’s work for cihild welfare.
