LABOURER'S DEATH
GUNSHOT WOUND IN HEAD
A labourer, Walter Coles, aged 23 of Eureka, was found dead in. a field at Whatawhata on Tuesday with a gun-shot wound in his head. At an inquest before Mr. F. W. Platts, coroner in Hamilton!, Jack Harris, farmer of Whatawhata, gave evidence of identification. "Witness said he had found the body of deceased in one of his paddoekls after his son had told him there was a man asleep in the field. Deceased was holding a discharged shotgun 'in his left hand and there was a severe wound in his head. The coroner returned a verdict of suicide.
