THE WEATHER Last Night’s Forecast General Situation: A shallow depression is still located over the south and central Tasman, but pressure has risen over the South Island. Forecast: Winds light to model ate and variable, with south-east to north-east predominating. Seas: In New Zealand waters, slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman: Southeast to north-east winds predominating, strong in parts of the western and southern areas, with rough seas; elsewhere, light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine over the northern half of the North Islana; elsewhere, cloudy to overcast, with showers or drizzling rain m but mainly light.
