Auckland. —March 9: Arrived, Sydney Maru, at 7 a.m., from. Wellington. Truer Religious Worship The opinion that a period of truer religious worship had begun in Great Britain was expressed 'by Dr. R. C. Gillie when addressing a meeting in Auckland of the Council of Christian Congregations. Religious trends of the present time could not be accurately gauged from church attendances, he said, because only a fifth of the communicants now attended two services each Sunday. Church-going for the sake of propriety had practically ceased in England. On the other hand there was a movement back to the church by outsiders.
