TOLL OF SNOWSTORM
HOMES AND SHOPS GO SEVERE FALL IN PERSIA (Reed. Mar. 9, 10 a.m.) v TEHERAN, Mar. 8. A hundred houses, 400 silk sheds, and 54 shops have been destroyed as a result of a snowstorm of unprecedented severity at Abkenar, eight miles from Pahlevi. The snow lay 6ft. deep.
