The explorer, Sir Hubert Wilkins, has placed before the Federal Government proposals for the establish-
ment of two meteorological stations in tiie Antarctic. -He suggests that New Zealand should be asked to .bear part of the cost, which he estimates at £IO,OOO yearly for two years and thereafter not more than £7OOO yearly.
