DEVOTION TO DUTY
NURSE’S SLEIGH TRIP WILLIAMS LAKE, 8.C.. Jan. 20. Zero weather and drifting snow do not stop nurse Jane Bryant, known in these parts as the “Florence Nightingale” of the Aniham Lake district, from carrying out her pledge to care for the medical needs of residents in this sparsely-settled central British Columbia district. Last week she braved the elements in a 60-mile sleigh ride to bring a patient to hospital here. The patient, Albert Powers, is now being treated at Chilcotin Hospital.
