young man sentenced (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, last night. In the only criminal case at the Supreme Court sessions the jury found Noel Brooks, aged 20, a seaman, of Auckland, guilty of carnal knowledge, adding a strong recommendation to mercy on account of the apparent (lack of 'control over the girl and the accused’s youth.
Mr. Justice Reed ordered Brooks to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months and to pay £lO towards the costs of the trial.
