SCHOOL SWIMMERS

CERTIFICATES AWARDED TE JvAIiAIvA PUPILS During February while .secondary pupils of the Te Karaka. District High School have been doing the greater part of their study out-of-doors, instruction. in swimming has been added to the usual .school subjects. The children are very keen and the appended list gives the names of those who have qualified for certificates. Their performance is the more praiseworthy when it is realised that they are hampered by lack of a swimming bath at the school and have to go about two miles up the Waihora River for instruction and practice. The enthusiasm of their master, Mr. A. W. Moverley, has been invaluable in .fostering this branch of sport. Distance Swimming 50yds.
