FIRE PROTECTION

An outline of a proposal to reorganise fire protection was given by the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, to the -Municipal Association -conference. Th-e proposal under consideration was for control to revert, to territorial and local authorities, subject to their setting up statutory committees on which insurance companies would be represented to guarantee uniformity. The setting up of a national hre council was contemplated.
