As a rcsuPt of the destruction by fire of a shed at the mouth of the p i last night, the Liverpool State Mine was idle to-day. Burning timbers fell across the main haulage rope making it red hot, necessitating its resplicing. The work was completed to-day and it is expected ttiat the mine will resume to-morrow. The James Mine was closed yeslo.rdav for a week owing to the aceumulatt.i on of coal at depots and the congestion of shipping.
