CARTER OBSERVATORY
DIRECTOR APPOINTED MR. MURRAY GEODES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The appointment is announced of Mr. Murray Geddes, director of the aurorae and zodiacal light section of the New Zealand Astronomical Society, as director of the new Carter Observatory being erected adjacent to the Dominion observatory, Kelburn. The appointment was made by the Carter Observatory Board. Mr. Geddes is at present stationed at South Hill end, Invercargill, and will take up his new duties on April 1.
