FAST BY GANDHI

ANXIETY OF DOCTORS

ATTACKS OP GIDDINESS

Jl KSSACIH TO VIOKROV

SETT LEM ENT POSSIBILITI ES

(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March 7. 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 0. This morning’s reports from Rajkot concerning the fast by Mahatma Gandhi as a .protest over the rejection of his demands for constitutional reforms, giving the people of Rajkot a voice in the administration of the State, indicate that the doctors fear that Gandhi may become unconscious at any moment. To-day he was unable to sit up in bed without an attack of giddiness. A document believed to be from the Viceroy of India, the Marquess of

Linlithgow, was delivered to Gandh to-day.

A New Delhi message states that a telegram has been sent from Gandhi + o the Viceroy. It is believed to be his reply to the Viceroy’s message. It is thought that direct correspondence .'will lead to a settlement, but much depends on whether Gandhi’s health will allow a continuation of the consultations.
