POOR MAIN HIGHWAY
OPOTIKI TO TANEATUA COUNTY COUNCIL BROTESTB Complaints made during the last few months by county residents and visitors to the district of the bad state of the main highway between Opotiki and Taneatua were considered at the monthly meeting of the Opotiki County Council. Mr. S. Maxwell said tlie council should take the matter up and agitate for better roads.
Mr. R. Iledley said that practically no work ot any consequence had been dime since the Labour Government came into power.
Mr. W. A. Gault said the road was tlie worst in the North Island.
It was decided to write to Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P., and the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, drawing their attention to the state of the main highway.
