CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY PRODIP PEATS KELLY, JUN. (S } >ooial to the Herald.) KOPUAWHARA, this day. Favoured by an ideal day, the Kopuawhara Tennis Club’s championship tournament, in conjunction with which a handicap competition was held, proved most successful. Specially good play was witnessed when A. Brodie defeated T. Kelly, jun., in. a particularly hard-fought game. The club was fortunate in having a,n array of trophies donated by Mr. Louis Cooper, Gisborne, Messrs. .J. W. Parker, H. G. Johnston, and E. E. Cater. The chief trophy was the Martha Quinn Memorial Cup, donated by Mr. Cooper, in memory of Miss Martha Quinn,.who lost her life in the February flood of last year. INTER-DISTRICT MATCH MOTU DEFEATS MATAWAI (Special to tins Herald.) MATAWAI, this day. An inter-district tennis match was played last week-end between teams from Motu and Matawai.
