TE KARAKA BOWLS
VISIT OF G.S.F.M. TEAM: CUP GAME WITH PATUTAHI (Herald I'oiTi'Kjiondeiil.) On Thursday evening three teams from the Gisborne Sheepfarmers Frozen Meat and Mercantile Company visited the Te Karaka green for a friendly match of floodlight bowis. the night was ideal for bowlers, who thoroughly enjoyed their games, an adjournment being made during the evening to partake oi a dainty supper provided by the ladies. At the conclusion of play Mr. A. Buckingham, on behalf of the Te Karaka club, in (thanking the visitors for their sporting play, said at was a long-promised match which they had been looking forward to for three seasons and he hoped that it was the forerunner of many similar visits. The following teams competed, visiting players being mientioned first in each instance:— Ellis, Shields, Campbell, McLaughlin (s) 17 v. Craill, Luttrell, A. Buckingham, McGrannachan (s) 20. Bound. Robertson, Neenan, Jackson (s) 19 v. Smithers, Wilson, Manuel. Hodgson (s) 20. Booth, Gallop, Town, Cameron (s) 13 v. Figg, Clayden, Greggan, Capper <s) 20. Cup Retained On Saturday the annual Cup match took place between Te Karaka and Patutahi, tiie home team proving the winner and retaining the trophy for the second year in succession The teams were, Patutahi players being mentioned first in each instance.
