The Papal, coronation will culminate in placing the triple crown on the head of Pope Pius XII on March 12 in the great loggia o!' the Basilica of St. Peter's in the presence of the faithful thronging St. Peter's Square. The Labour M.P., Mr. George Lansbury, has sent an appeal to the Pope to summon a conference to consider means of securing international peace. "I have met face to face most of the leading .statesmen of 'the world," says Mr. Lansbury. "Everyone admits that unless the present arms race is ended, the result will be universal destruction. Unfortunately, not one will take his courage in his hands and fling out a challenging call. "I appeal, to you to call the religious leaders- to meet you in conference to dhscuss what pressure may be brought on the statesmen of the world to cease the insane march to destruction."
