PIHA FIRE INQUIRY
OPINION OF PATHOLOGISTS HUMAN REMAINS FOUND PART OF HEAD AND SPINE (Per Tress Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Pathologists who examined the scanty remains taken by the Auckland police from the bach which was burned at Piha in the early morning of February 12 are of the opinion that they are human. , When the (ire occurred the bach was occupied by two Australians, Gordon Robert McKay ami J. A. Talbot, and it was believed that Mr. McKay was burned to death. The remains, which were recently exhumed, consist of a 4in. square piece of skull with a small portion of flesh attached, a section of spine, and small parts of bones. Dr. W. Gilmour, pathologist to the Auckland Hospital, will submit his report to the coroner, who will decide the date of the resumption of the inquest. Dr. Gilmour's report will not be made public until the inquest.
