Turf Club Races The Poverty Bay Turf Club has decided to apply to have its winter meeting in May instead of July tlii"! year. The state of the course at the corresponding meeting last year and the weather conditions at that time of the year have influenced the club in this direction. Ermlale Lucky Erndale. winner of the open sprint at the Frauklin meeting at Pukekohe on Saturday, has an impressive record this season, having started only three times for two firsts and a second. He is a five-year-old gelding by Lapidary —Lunette. He was rather fortunate on Saturday, as he got a break on the field as they straightened up for home, and it appeared as if Tosh would have won had he been kept closer to the leaders. Best to Date

Galilee followed up her win at To Aroha on Monday last by winning the Franklin Cup from Glen Abb and Gay Rebel on Saturday. Mr. E. H. Cucksey’s mare was soon in front, and she stayed there. This was her most important success, and it is the longest race she has won since she was successful in the Woodstock Stakes at To Awamutu when she was a three-year-old.
