DAMAGE BY FIRE
STATE JOINERY FACTORY THREE BRIGADES CALLED (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Considerable damage was caused by a fire at the Government Housing Department's joinery factory at Penrose last night when two small buildings were completely gutted. Prompt action by the sole employee on duty at the time and firemen from three suburban stations prevented the outbreak from penetrating the main joinery shop. Since the erection of the factory a few years ago there have be<»n several similar outbreaks, the last being at Christmas.
