Clothes Catch Alight
Extensive bums were suffered by a widow, Mrs. 'Mary Ann Tottenham, aged 82, Mellon’s Hay, Auckland, when her clothes caught alight through contact with a fire in her wash-house copper. Her calls lot help were not heard and she rushed to a tap outside, where she was able to extinguish the flames hersell.
