BUDGE'S FOEM AWAITED " MEETING,WITH VINES (Reed. Dec. 31, 9 a.m.) vNEW YORK; Dec. 30. It is anticipated that 17,j500 people will rjay a total of £IO,OOO to see the professional debut of the tennis champion, J. D. Budge, against Vines at Madison Square on January 3.
Vines says he plans to pound Budge's forehand, which is not as strong .as., his backhand. Vines states that most of the amateur opponents of Budge madje the mistake, of playing to his backhand. If Budge lifts the professional title, during his tour of 70 American ,imd Canadian cities, Vines is retiring- and concentrating on golf.
