FORMER LABOUR M.P.
CHEQUE FOR MR, COULTER There was a large gathering in the Ngatea Hall on the occasion of a complimentary social and presentation to Mr. R. Coulter, former member for Waikato, and the Labour candidate for Hauraki at the lastgeneral election. Representatives of all parts of the electorate were present. Mr. I. Grice presented Mr. Coulter with a substantial cheque and -eulogised his services to the public ir. various capacities over many years. Mr. Coulter said that it had been a pleasure to serve the cause of Labour and his services would always be available in the interests of the party. Mr. Coulter was recently presented by the electors of Waikato, his former constituency, with a motorcar.
