.IOLLY IMPROMPTU DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) A jolly impromptu dance was held in the Motu Hall on Tuesday night, when a number of visitors were happily entertained by the young people of 'Motu and Motuhora. Miss Una Reed and Messrs. A. Neilson, W. H. McCafTery, and C. G. Anderson were the pianists, and 'Mr. Trevor Nolan assisted with several solos on the mouth organ. A number of the Motuhora visitors appeared in fancy costumes, which added to the general fun of the entertainment. Amongst those present were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCafTery, Mr. and Mrs. E. Derecourt, Mr. and Mrs. A. Neilson (Gisborne), Mr. and Mrs. B. Woollams (Fcilding); Mrs. W. J. Reed, Mrs. F. Read; Misses Meryll and Moana Derecourt, Pat Francis (Whakatane), U. Reed, B. Fisher, J. M. Boys, S„ J. and P. Twisleton, K. O’Donohue (Gisborne), E. and M. Jackson, J. Rowe, B. MoMenaman (Wellington), M. Gowper (Auckland), and P. Read; Messrs. J. Slade (Gisborne). 'R. and T. Twislelon, T. Scholium, IT. Barty, J. Quinn, C. Derecourt, L. R'hynd, T. Nolan, G. Phillips, W. Therechs, and F. and J. Peddle. Misses Molly Cow,per and Betty Clout, Auckland, nieces of Mrs. C. G. Anderson, are enjoying a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Anderson, Motu. — Miss Betty McMenaman, Wellington, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. W. J. Reed, Motu—Mr. and Mrs. A. Neilson and Mr. J. Slade, Gisborne, paid a brief visit to Motu this week and took part in the Yankee tennis tournament at Matawai on Boxing Day. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Woollams, Feilding, are visiting the latter’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. E. Derecourt, Motuhora. —Mr. and Mrs. S. Hodges, Paritu, and Miss P. Twisleton, Gisborne, were Christmas visitors to Motu and stayed with Mr. a>nd Mrs. IT. L. Twisleton.Miss Pat Francis, Whakatane, is spending the holidays with Miss Moana Derecourt, Motuhora. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Bull, Gisborne, and Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Tullock. W.hatatutu, Misses J- O’Reilly and L. TuMocu, and MrfAtlhol Allen, Gisborne, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wright during the .Christmas week-eMCi—-Mr. and Mrs. W. I;l. McCafTery and family, Motuhora, spent the Christmas week-end at Waihirerc.
