Catford Bridge Football
Sir, —Referring to your remarks in your Friday’s edition about the above London club, I can name a much older club than that one, the Clapton, whose ground is at the Spotted Dog, Forest Gate, Essex, and was founded in 1878 bv Mr. W. R. Davies, myself and a few others who worked in offices in London. The club has won about 20 cups in the various competitions it entered for. It is strictly amateur and after paying rent, advertising the gate-keepers the balance is divided exery week between various local charities. A most successful club. CHARLES GOULAND.
