THREE IN HOSPITAL
CHILD HIT BY CAR MOTOR CYCLISTS INJURED (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Three patients are in the Ashburton Hospital in a serious condition as a result of motor accidents. Desmond Withell, aged six. the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. S. Withell, Ashburton, was run over by a car nn emerging from the rear of another vehicle. He suffered abdominal injuries and also an injury to the head. The other victims are Norman Shan-, non, aged 20, and Alan Benjamin Richards, aged 18, both of Rniraia, who were injured when their motorcycle collided with a car near Ralpaia. Mr. Shannon suffered a broken leg. abrasions and concussion. Mr Richards suffered concussion. The hospital reported last, ftyeninjg that the boy Withell’s condition was serious and that of the others satisfactory.
