SHRINKAGE IN VALUE
STOCK SECURITIES TREND IN LONDON (Reed. Dec. 28, 2.40 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 27. The persistent fail in security values which has been a feature of the Stock Exchange throughout the year ds illustrated in the Bankers’ Magazine which quotes the aggregate value of 3G5 representative securities as at December 15 -as £0,234,000,000, which is £489,181.000, or equal to 7.3 per cent, below the value as at December 15 1937, following £622,000,000. equal to 8.9 per cent, of shrinkage in values of the .same securities during 1937. This two years’ depreciation of £1.151.000,000 is equal to 16 per cent.
