Dec. 23, 1 p.m.) BERLIN, Dec. 22. iA virtual economic dictatorship has been entrusted to Dr. Funk _ in the endeavour to check the rapid drift and paralysis of industry resulting from the acute labour shortage, lack of raw materials and duties now on those available.
It is stated that Dr. Funk is to be the combined Minister of Labour Supply and Economics under the new arrangements, whereby trade production will )be nationalised and unified and all resources pooled. Dr. Funk will be empowered to divert any proportion of t J he resources in favour of a single producer in an industry needing support. He also will control the distribution of labour and raw materials. Though not State-owned, the German undertakings will be bound hand and foot with the Government’s policy, concerning which Dr. Funk initially is concerned in the oraeticai administration of the fouryear plan, while Marshal Goering is evolving the basic principles of economic readjustment.
