FRENCH STRIKES ENDING
THOUSANDS GO TO WORK VALENCIENNES AND LIE EE (Reed. Dec. 9, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 8. 'Messages from Paris state that the strikes have ended i*:i. northern France. Thirty thousand Valenciennes metal works and Lille textile workers have resumed. Conditions at Le Havre are expected to be normal in a few days. The maritime strike cost £20,000.
