KEEN ENTHUSIASM
PIPING AND DANCING WAIROA BRANCH MEETS (Special to tlic Herald.) WAIItOA, this day. It was unanimously decided, at a Weil attended meeting on Wednesday evening of the Wairoa branch of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand, to hold the first social evening on January 25 to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. A sub-committee was appointed to make all arrangements and report back at the next meeting of the association on December 14. Several matters of interest to the satiety were freely discussed and all present displayed, keen enthusiasm with the object of the association —to promote national dancing and piping and to endeavour to keep alive many of the old Scottish customs and national song and story.
Approximately 25 new members were enrolled and all spoke very highly of the granting toy the centre of a Hawke’s 'Bay provincial championship for Sean Truitohais at the coming Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show.
Messrs. Sheppard and Simpson were appointed honorary pipers.
