GOOD CYCLE CONTESTS WESTERLY AFFECTS FORM I. CAMERON’S 5-LAP WIN Though the attendance was moderate, the weekly meeting conducted on the Victoria Domain last evening by the Gisborne Sports Club proved an attractive one, the programme comprising running, cycling, and tin-hare events of general interest. In the mens’ running section, E. White, off s£yds-, scored a good win, and the live-lap event fell to I. Cameron, who put up a good effort all through. His brother, L. Cameron, also ran well but erratically. The best performance in this event was that of H. McLeod, who ran from scratch and finished a close fourth. Among the lady runners, Miss G, Bioxham proved the best over 100yds., off a generous handicap of 13yds. Miss T. Whitehead, from scratch, was just out of second place, all being close at the finish. .Mrs. N. Lloyd won the suyds. dash in good, fast time, off a short handicap. In the senior cycling fields, A. W. O’Connell was the best junior rider over four laps of the course, winning narrowly enough from R. Croskery and P. Lirudsay.
