ITALIAN AID TO REBELS MORE TROOPS ARRIVE DEATH TOLL IN MADRID BOMBINGS AND SHELLINGS (Eloc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. 3, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2. The Spanish Ambassador to London, Senor Pablo Florez, in a note to the Foreign Office, stated that Italian intervention in the Spanish civil war was increasing instead of decreasing.

He estimated that apart from the 10,000 soldiers withdrawn 60,000 ininfantrymen and artillerymen, members of tank corps, 1000 pilots, 2000 aviation mechanics and also 2(5,000 technicians and others were still in service with the insurgents.

None of the four divisions, from which 10,000 troops hod been withdrawn, had been dissolved.. Eight Italian generals remained and recent arrivals included 225 aviators, 3374 soldiers, 600 technicians and 1301 Italian planes. An Independent Cable service message from Madrid states that municipal figures issued in Madrid show that 1666 persons were killed and 3743 injured in Madrid in air raids and shellings since October of 1936. The city was hit by 9590 bombs and shells.

A Valencia message states that rebels carried out three air raids over the Valencia port zone last night and heavy damage was done. The British ship Gothic was slightly damaged by bombing at Barcelona. Four persons were killed and six wounded in the raid.
