STOWAWAY CHARGE

TERM OF PROBATION YOUTH BEFORE COURT (Por Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. A youth named Michael John Kelly, aged 19 years, a farm hand, who stowed away in the Kaikorai, was brought before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., in the the Police Court yesterday morning and was admitted to probation for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay the sum ot £7 10s, the amount of the fare from Australia to New Zealand. Accused hid himself in the bunkers in the Kaikorai at Port Kembla New South Wales, on October 26. Work was available for him on a farm at Midhirst; it was stated.
