GREYHOUND TRIALS

GALLOP'S ON THE DOMAIN MUCH INTEREST SHOWN The Victoria Domain was the scene of much activity last evening when a large number of greyhounds went through their 'training gallops in preparation for the forthcoming season. Unfortunately, owing to a minor breakdown in the mechanism of the plant, some of the hounds were not seen in action, "out as trials will bo held every Tuesday evening, owners will have further opportunity of putting their charges through their paces. The first dogs to work out last evening were W. Dunstan's She'll Do, G. Cudd's Silk Sox and E. J. Outen's Silver Lip. Silk Sox led Silver Lip home by a length. Silver Lip is inclined to interfere with other dogs and unless his owner 'breaks him of this habit, Silver Lip probably will he put on the schooling list.

The next to work were V. Davy'.: Lordly Knight, Mrs-. Fitzmaurice's Beau'tiful, and K. O'Connell's Silver Cadet. Both Lordly Knight and Silver Cadet gave meritorious performances. Beautiful does not seem keen enough and a run on a live hare would improve her.

E. and E. Morrow's Cordial King beat R. Cudd's Radiant Sun by two lengths. Radiant Sun is a good maiden performer and should show his owner good returns this season. McLeod's Lucky Strike galloped nicely to win his trial easily. This big fawn dug should rank among the open dogs this season.

C. Lloyd's Starlight is an improved bitch and handled the track well. ..I. Leigh's Darky, a beautifully termed bitch, showed an abundance of pace, but was run off at a corner. Among those that did not have an opportunity to work out were E. and E. Morrow's Fiery's Gift and Radiant Call; Misi M Leigh's Fire Shine, and Leigh's brindle bitch, the last two hounds being clever performers at open coursing; Mrs. Cudd's Wrack and Rum, a maiden performer; McLeod's Hard Case; W. McKeague's Flying Lass; F. and T. Cox's Sunny Lass and Yellow Bird.
