WHEAT FROM CANADA APPEAL FOR RETENTION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 4. 1.50 p.m.) WINNIPEG, Aug. 3. The Grain Exchange Council has sent a resolution to the 'Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, urging steps to maintain the United Kingdom preference which was granted to Canadian wheat under the Ottawa pacts. The council cites reports in the United States that preference will be dropped in favour of a similar concession to the United States.
