CITRUS ASSOCIATION
CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY DECISION AT TAURANGA Members of the Tauranga Citrus Association at a special general meeting unanimously decided to convert the association into a company on a cooperative basis, similar to that adopted by dairy companies. The new name is to he the Tauranga Co-operative Citrus Association, Limited. It was resolved that the share capital be allocated on a basis of £1 share on each 15 orchard eases supplied to the factory during the year ended July 31, 1938, and that a benzine case or its equivalent in cubic capacity he accepted as the standard orchard case. The meeting agreed that the basis of contribution to share capital be threepence a case on each orchard case supplied to the factory. The chairman of the committee reported that it had been found necessary to order a grading machine, and also to enlarge the factory. The intake of lemons into the factory during the past three months had been phenomenal. Last year the factory took in 40,000 cases from suppliers, but this year’s supply would show a very appreciable increase.
