ISOLATION OF FAMILIES
MEASLES AND RAIN WHANCAPAEAOA AREA (Pur I’russ Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Measles and recent heavy rams have combined to isolate several families living at Stnnmorc Bay, Whangaparaoa Peninsula. m *<• ■ week’s storm a footbridge at Stanmore Bay was washed away and since then repairs have been delayed through the county foreman m the district having contracted measles. The bridge led across a tidal stream which flows into the Hauraki Gull and was the only means by which settlers at Stanmore Bay could reach their homes dry-footed. Now they can only reach the main Whangaparaoa settlement by boat it the tide is in. At low tide, mowevcr, it is possible to wade across the stream and by this means the children of the settlers have been able to attend school.
