The All Blacks won their sixth match to-day by defeating Darling Downs by 30 points to six, making the tally to date 138 points for and 43 points against. The score at halftime was 19 points to nil. The game was played on a hard ground and consequently the players did not take undue liberties on the eve of the second test. The outstanding players were Griffiths and Mitchell in the backs, and McKenzie and Parkhill in the for-

His backing-up to-day was particularly fine and brought at least three tries. At feature was the remarkable number of penalties for scrum infringements by both sides, resulting in 13 free kicks being awarded. As a whole the All Black forwards did not tackle ovcr-convincingly, but the backs again displayed cleverness on attack. Dick played iiis first match on the tour and, while his game was not -outstanding, his form was sufficient to bring him into the running with Phillips and Wright for the wing position in the test match. Lambourne’s try in the second half came from a cross-kick by Dick, who showed speed. Williams’ _ try was scored from .a ruck. Phillips scored the remaining try after Hooper, had sliced through the opposition. The Darling Downs’ team was:— Garfhe, Meibusch, Hayes, O’Connor, McLean, Murich, Horan, Gibbs, Keats, Birmingham, Brown, Diery, Cooke, Newman, and McDonald.
