ADVANCING ON HANKOW
JAPANESE REINFORCED CHINESE CUT DYKES (Reed. Aug. 3, 3 p.m.) LONDON. Aug. 2. A message from Tokio says that the Japanese are again advancing on Hankow and have captured the walled town of Huangmei. A Shanghai report states that Japan has dispatched 30,000 reinforcements to strengthen the advance on Hankow. The Chinese cut the Wuhu dykes above Kiukiang, flooding a large area. Japanese bombers disabled 14 Chinese ships, including three gunboats, during an extensive raid on tlie Yangtse Kiang.
