MOVE TO STOP STRIKE

CABINET MAY MEDIATE

SYDNEY, July 27.
The Sun newspaper reports that the New South Wales Government has decided to intervene to try to prevent a general strike in the coal industry.
The Cabinet has authorised the Minister of Labour, Mr. A. Mair, to visit the southern and northern coalfields to investigate the complaints and to report to the Government whether mediatory action should be taken.
