IVut Press Association.)
PALMERSTON N., last night,
In the Supreme Court to-day Mr. Justice Quilliam sentenced Thomas John Lucinsky, labourer, aged 30, who was found guilty of the theft of a safe and contents valued at £446, to one year's imprisonment. His Honour described the crime as serious, wicked and stupid. The prisoner had been declared an habitual criminal and had been released on license as late as last December. His Honour added that the jury had taken a merciful view of the accused's case, hence the light sentence.
