Mr. E. Hemingway, chairman of the Waneanui Education Board, has entered into his twenty-third year as a member of the board during four of which he lias been chairman. Dr R M. F-.rlay, of Dunedin has concluded his law studies at the London School of Economics and has gained his Ph.D. This is understood £ "be the first Ph.D. in law ever granted by London University. Dr. Finlav has left for Geneva, first to attend for six weeks the Summer School there, and then to have experience as a research collaborator at the League of Nations until about the end of September.
