I CATHOLIC EUCHRE PARTY n (Horald Correspondent.) The final euchre party of the series - in aid of the Ormond Catholic Church - was held recently in the Ormond 1 Hall. There was the usual good attendance, despite the bad weather, ', and interest ran high owing to the - close positions of some of the contest tants for the aggregate prizes. The ' winners of the evening were:—Ladies, i —Mrs. O'Connor, 1; Mrs. D. Neenan, -2. Gentlemen.—Mr. Jones, 1; Mr. • Spellars, 2. The aggregate prizes for i the series were won by:—Ladies.— r Mrs. Bowes, 72 points, 1; Mrs. O'Gradv, 62 points, 2. GentlemenMr. liar vie, 1; Mr. Spellars, 2. Two competitions were won by Mrs. McCarthy and Miss P. Baird. W.I. Five-Hundred Evening The final of the series of five-hun-dred evenings in aid of the Ormond Women's Institute was held in the Ormond Hall on Saturday evening. The series has been very successful and the proceeds will help considerably towards the rebuilding of the institute room. Those attending the parties have enjoyed them to such an extent that it was decided to l:OJd another evening in a fortnight. The winners were: —Ladies. —Miss Mavis Rogers, 1; Mrs. Barbour, 2. Gentlemen.—Mr. A. 11. Jones, 1; Mr. Rogers, 2. A competition was won by Miss R. Pardee. The aggregate prizes were won by Miss M. Cook and Mr. W. Pardoe. The games were controlled by Mrs. G. Jones, and the music for dancing was plaved bv Mrs. Lovelock. Mr. and Mrs. W. Harris, who were recently married in Blenheim, have taken up their residence in Ormond. — Mrs. McGonigal, Hamilton, lias been visiting her father, Mr. C. Neenan, i Ormond.
