MISSING WOMAN HUNT

400 BOY SCOUTS ENGAGED

PARTIES COMB HILLS

(Per Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day

Four hundred Boy Scouts took part in a widespread search for Mrs. Elsie Mace, who has been missing from hei home at Wadestown since 4 a.m. on Sunday. The search was carefully planned and the plans were carried out perfectly, and, though when the parties returned to their homes last night they "had not found her, they, at least, realised that the area of country which they set out to search had been thoroughly investigated. The arrangements were that every boy had to be clear of difficult country by daylight and be where he could be picked up by car if he was far from town, in which connection the services oi the Rotary Club were invaluable. The scheme worked perfectly and at 5 o'clock headquarters had been advised that all Scouts were accounted for except a party of rovers, who were in very difficult country but were reported at 5.15. The hill country beyond Wadestown and in parts right out to the coast was thoroughly combed, besides Wilton's Bush and the whole of the residential area.
